Nancy Pandhi, MD, MPH, PhD

Nancy Pandhi was principal investigator on this project and a founding member of the Health Experiences Research Network. In addition to securing funding and leading the project, she conducted interviews and qualitative data analysis and mentored the team on DIPEx methodology. She is a family physician, tenured professor, and mixed-methods community-engaged health services researcher. She is co-director of the University of New Mexico’s Clinical and Translational Science Center and associate chair for the Department of Family and Community Medicine.

Heidi Rishel Brakey, MA

Heidi Rishel Brakey conducted most of the interviews and led the data analysis and writing process. She is a senior qualitative research scientist for the University of New Mexico’s Clinical and Translational Science Center.

Jeff Carter, BA

Jeff Carter was the research coordinator for this project and helped with participant recruitment, scheduling, note taking during interviews, data analysis, and drafted participant biographies. He is pursuing his Doctorate in School Psychology at the University of Houston and works as a research coordinator at Baylor College of Medicine.

Larissa Myaskovsky, PhD

Larissa Myaskovsky was a co-investigator on this project. She is a professor in the University of New Mexico’s Department of Internal Medicine’s Division of Nephrology, director of the Center for Healthcare Equity in Kidney Disease, and faculty lead of Translational Workforce Development in the University of New Mexico’s Clinical and Translational Science Center.

Mark Unruh, MD, MS

Mark Unruh was a co-investigator on this project. He is a nephrologist and professor at the University of New Mexico’s Division of Nephrology, chair of the Department of Internal Medicine and faculty lead of Community and Collaboration in the University of New Mexico’s Clinical and Translational Science Center.

Pooja P Singh, MD

Pooja Singh was a co-investigator on this project. She is the medical director of Renal Transplant Services at the University of New Mexico Hospital and professor in the Division of Nephrology.
