We're talking with people to bring you modules on the following topics:

Hereditary Cancer Risk or Cancer, and Genetics
The goal of this project is to develop a deeper understanding of people’s experiences with hereditary cancer risk or hereditary cancer, and genetics. The study will include peoples’ experiences with genetic testing, sharing information about risk with family members, making decisions about prophylactic surgery and other interventions. We will interview people with hereditary colorectal cancer or breast cancer, and people with genetic conditions that predispose individuals to these cancers (e.g. Lynch Syndrome and BRCA). We anticipate that our module will be completed and on the website in 2019.

Breast Cancer
The aim of our research is to develop a deeper understanding of people’s’ experiences with breast cancer. This module will include peoples’ experiences with diagnosis and treatment, accessing care, and the impact their illness has had on their identities, sense of spirituality, and life. We anticipate that our module will be completed and on the website in early 2020.

Childhood Cancer
In this project, we will interview parents of children who were diagnosed before age 15 and completed cancer treatment 1-5 years ago. This aim of our research is to gain a more in-depth understand families’ experiences with childhood cancer, including first noticing something was wrong, experiences with diagnosis and treatment, decision-making about treatment and participation in clinical trials, impact on family members, life after treatment, survivorship, and late effects of cancer treatment. We anticipate that our module will be completed and on the website in 2020.

Adolescent and Young Adult Cancer
In this project, we will interview adolescents and young adults who were diagnosed between ages 15-24 and completed cancer treatment 1-5 years ago. This aim of our research is to gain a more in-depth understand the experience with cancer during adolescence and young adulthood, including first noticing something was wrong, experiences with diagnosis and treatment, decision-making about treatment and participation in clinical trials, impact on school and social life, impact on transition to adulthood, life after treatment, survivorship, and late effects of cancer treatment. We anticipate that our module will be completed and on the website in 2021.

Gulf War Veterans’ Health Experience
The aim of our research is to better understand Gulf War Veterans’ experiences with health and healthcare. We anticipate that our module will be completed and on the website in 2021.
